Programs and Services

Alzheimer’s Services of the East Bay offers 3 Adult Day Health Care programs in Berkeley, Oakland, and Hayward. The respected Robert Wood Johnson Foundation chose ASEB as a "model" Adult Day program for its nationwide Partners in Caregiving Demonstration Project

We also offer an Early Stage support program, and Support Groups for caregivers.

ASEB also provides education services for health care professionals, and presentations for those interested in learning more about our services and Alzheimer’s disease/dementia in general.

Adult Day Health Care Program

Adult Day Care is a low-cost alternative to full-time residential or in-home care. It allows your loved one to remain at home for as long as possible, and may prevent premature or inappropriate institutionalization. It provides respite for caregivers, and allows them to continue full-time work schedules, knowing their loved one is in a safe, stimulating, and supportive environment.

Our Early Stage Program offers support for those who have recently been diagnosed with dementia, as well as for their caregivers.

Cost for Services

The cost for ASEB to provide Day Care Services is approximately $100 a day per client. Your cost may vary based on several factors. ASEB currently accepts Medi Cal. The cost for private pay clients to attend ASEB's Day Care Programs is a fraction of the cost of full time care. Please contact one of our Social Workers for more details.

Our Support Groups & Early Stage Program may be attended free of charge. Please contact one of our Social Workers before attending as space is limited.

We charge a $40 minumum for community presentations and for continuing education courses to cover expenses for travel and materials. Prices may be higher depending on location, number of attendees, and length of presentation.
