ASEB’s team of international interns just landed in the Bay Area, ready to begin a six-month practical training program that will prepare them to be leaders in global collaboration. Executive Director of ASEB, Micheal Pope, will mentor the four interns in management, partnership development, public relations, and more. The interns, who come from three different continents and four different countries, will work with ASEB administrative staff to develop ASEB’s marketing, outreach, social media, and training initiatives. Part of ASEB’s vision for the future is to expand its mission beyond the region and into the international sphere. ASEB’s partnership with Collabriv, an organization that brings university students and early-career professionals from all nations to the U.S. to learn collaboration skills, is an important step in that direction.
The ASEB interns are also enrolled in a leadership training program at St. Mary’s College. They will deeply immerse themselves in the local Bay Area culture through living with homestay families, participating in field trips, and working at The Hub, a global network of co-working and incubator spaces in San Francisco and Berkeley.
